I'm a co-op (read: I don't know anything) and my mission is to try and automate processing characters from a CAD program on a UNIX station to CorelDRAW 9 to a font file (with, of course, several operations to be performed in CorelDRAW). I can do all of this manually, but I don't know anything about programming.
Furthermore, my engineers have never used VBA or Corel, so my only resources are the internet, amazon.com, and the CorelDRAW9 User Guide (which gives this helpful bit of advice:
"To create an automation project:
1. Click Tools, VisualBasic, VisualBasic Editor.
2. Using VisualBasic Editor, create your automation project."
How much of this project can actually be automated? Am I in a little over my head? The help lines were... less than helpful. I'm not at all afraid of work, but I could use a little direction.
(Maybe something like, "There's no way to use VBA until the file is in a DXF form, so don't even try it." or "Yeah, there's a really great book on how to do that..."
