Fax tone on Digital phone

I have a 406v2 4.0.7 when the extension on unit 1 port 26 is on a call and someone sends a fax from unit 3 port 3 (analog 8) the fax tone comes through the call that is on port 26. When the fax is finished the call is reconnected.
Has anyone seen this.

I would plug the phone directly into port 26 of module 1, make a test call and fax and see if it still happens. I have never had any issues with cross-talk on an IPO and this would eliminate the IPO and point to the wiring. Could be a split pair somewhere on the internal wiring.

probably there are wires crossed

this happens when the whitewires of both pairsare crossed
this is a common mistake and happens eventhe best engineer sometimes
