I have an R11.3 S8700 with redundant SI cabinets with 8 single-cabinet G700 remote locations. Each location has it's own Robbed-bit T1 with DID service and one or two analog cards. The entire network is all IP phones, with a few analog phones, faxes, or modems at each location.

Because of some issues with AT&T the circuit at one particular location has gone out of service for an extended period of time. When this happened DID calls got routed through another location's (G700 to G700) T1. Incoming DID calls work fine to all IP phones, but I cannot get faxes at this location (G700) when it's DID calls are coming from the other location (G700). Outbound faxes work because they are using a few COs that are local to the site.

It seems as though CM1.3 (G3V11) does support fax-relay through the MedPro board, but it does not work. I get maybe one page, then it disconnects the call. Old school troubleshooting would lead me directly to a synchronization problem (as in there not being any) on the T1 curcuits (which in this case is true since the T1 is out of service). I can only set the synch sources on the G700 to a local (to the G700) curcuit. Is it a synch problem since I don't have a local T1? Doesn't seem like it should be. Seems like everything being IP and the media gateway being registered back to the S8700 should suffice.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

assistu,

are you sure you running the latest firmware available for cm1 on c-lans, medpros and g700 mgps?

No. I know I'm not running the latest anything. I actually just wanted to make sure it was SUPPOSE to be able to support faxing. I'm sure I'd need to upgrade all of the firmware, but we've have had so many problems with V1 of everything that we are very weary of doing anything.
