Fax over Broadvox SIP problems

SIP line compression set to G.711. Monitor shows other codecs being negotiated. Having a few issues that include: faxes work several times in and out - then will receive a comm error, but will succeed on retry, some incoming faxes will be good followed by one that doesn't receive all the pages. Also, the circuit will go to "sleep" after inactivity (they have a night crew that comes in at 1:00 a.m. and cannot make outbound calls - but can receive them) Have Avaya and Broadvox looking at it. I had them at 4.2.20, then 5.0, now back to 4.2.11 (the load Broadvox tested with Avaya) Anyone seen these issues? Have any recommendations?

Use G.711 ULAW 64K for FAX.
