Hi,
I'm stuck with a fax issue;
I just put a new install into france consisting of a G450 with a S8300 and CM5.x.
In this gateway is a MM711 analogue board, which has a fax machine connected.
The station is set up as 2500, with station-settings set for FAX.

When I trace the port, I see ringing, but the fax never answers..
Now the case is: it is an upgrade from an IP-Office.
When the end-user puts the fax back on the IP-Office it answers no problem.
Are there special considerations for France? I seem to vaguely remember something is diffrent with the ringer settings in France..? anyone got a working config example?

Connect a regular analog phone to the port
If the phone rings there is something with the fax machine
If the phone does not ring then you need to set up something different but i do not know what

ACA - Implement IP Office
ACS - Implement IP Office
ACA - Implement IP Telephony
ACA - Voice Services Management

Some fax machines can be very picky about the ring voltage. If the ring voltage is too low then the fax won't detect it - even if a regular phone works.

Assuming a regular analog phone rings at that port, try changing your fax extension to a different port on the card. If that doesn't work, do you have a 2nd analog card to try?

Check the location parameters settings.

I have seen the issue on a uk system that was set to us, as soon as we changed it to the uk setting (10) the faxes wotked perefectly.

also check the sync sources.

I think the location code for France is 12.

Code 12 France
-----------------

50 Hz, 28 to 90 Volts rms superimposed on 0.45 to 54 V
dc, 1.5 sec on, 3.5 sec off
ETSI countries: 30 Volts rms, superimposed on a DC
voltage of 50 Volts, 25 or 50 hz, cadence of 1 sec on, 5 sec
off

Thanks, for the input..
got it working,
somehow seemed to have issues with the quality of the cabling ..
reconnecting it straight to the port with a new cable seem to have done the job..
