Favorites in Office XP

In the 'Open' file window in Office 2000, it offered icons like History,My Documents, Desktop, Favorites & My Network Places in the LH side of the 'Open File' window.

Are these no longer available in the Office XP? I don't have them on My Word & Excel file opening window and find it painful as I'm used to Office 2000. Any suggestions please?
