Does anyone know if there is a list on the Internet of the hex codes used to identify different parts of the FAT and directory entries?

As I recall, they were included in the DOS Technical Reference manual... unfortunately I tossed my DOS manuals several years after converting to Win 95b. I'd like to have that information for reference use in forensics.

In the meantime I'll keep looking in all the "boneyards" for an old copy... unless someone has one they' be willing to mail to me :)

In a link from a link in an unrelated thread right in the "PC Hardware Forum"....called "How to write Zeros to Hard Drive" thread751-649290

Now, what are the chances of that happening....?
Thanx to KenMurray

My apologies as I hastily gave the link without closer inspection....there's some very useful info at that site pertaining to dos, debug, fdisk....etc.
though not exactly what I think you're looking for..
I have the(some) codes in my books.....I'll try to figure out how to post them without going crazy...:>)
