Hi, we've got an AIX 5.1 ML05 with two hbas connected to a fastt 200. Now we're trying to connect to a Hitachi 9500 with a third hba, with no HDLM.
The problem is that it doesn't see the LUNs from the hitachi, and we think that the fastt software is the problem. How can we make this software not to control the third hba?

Thanks, and sorry for my poor english

Have you tried attaching other disk technology to the third HBA? Do you have the proper drivers installed to support the Hitachi Disk? Also is the WWN of the HBA configured in the Hitachi Frame?

The hitachi fram can see the third hba, and its WWN, and it has a LUN asigned to it.

For the hitachi drivers, I've seen that there's no need to install them, that it can work with standard AIX PTFs. If you think I'm wrong, please tell me and we'll try installing new drivers (but no HDLM, due to licenses).

We cannot attach any other disk frame to this hba, cause we don't have any other, so we can't give it a try.

Thanks

You don't need to install the Hitachi ODM. The drives will just show up as "MPIO Other FC SCSI Disk Drive". I would install the ODM anyways though.

Have you checked the cable, verified link light, verified that the hba is logging into the switch, etc? Have you also ran cfgmgr to discover the fibre adapter and drives?
