I have a Meridian phone system, and just this morning a problem cropped up.

Most of the time, nobody internally can dial out to any external phone#....you just get a fast busy.

Does anybody know any test I can run to see what's causing it or what the problem may be?

-thanks $1mil

So far :

I checked with our T1 provider to make sure the line was OK. Yes, it is. So, looks like an equipment problem.

My next step was to cry and plead for it to work. That worked about as well as begging the terminator.

Then I regained composure and phoned a company that fixes this sort of problem, without using a hammer. But who knows when they will show! or what they will charge!

-zoinks,

Go to ld 60 and stat your loop. Channels should be idle or busy if sbsy or mbsy than disable and reenable the specific channels. ld 60 dsch (loop) (channel) than ench (loop) (channel). Any errors generated on your switch?

I'm going to have my T1 provider RE-EXAMINE:
------------------------------------------------
PRI* TRK LOOP 2 - ENBL
FFMT/LCMT/YALMT: ESF/B8Z/FDL
TRACKING
SERVICE RESTORE: YES
YEL ALM PROCESS: YES
ALARM STATUS : NO ALARM
CH 01 - BUSY TIE * CH 02 - BUSY TIE *
CH 03 - BUSY TIE * CH 04 - BUSY TIE *
CH 05 - BUSY TIE * CH 06 - MBSY TIE *
CH 07 - DSBL TIE * CH 08 - FE MBSY TIE *
CH 09 - FE MBSY TIE * CH 10 - MBSY TIE *
CH 11 - MBSY TIE * CH 12 - MBSY TIE *
CH 13 - MBSY TIE * CH 14 - MBSY TIE *
CH 15 - MBSY TIE * CH 16 - MBSY TIE *
CH 17 - MBSY TIE * CH 18 - MBSY TIE *
CH 19 - MBSY TIE * CH 20 - MBSY TIE *
CH 21 - MBSY TIE * CH 22 - MBSY TIE *
CH 23 - MBSY TIE * CH 24 - DCH 7

So......

I tried DSCH 2 6

Now it says :
CH 06 - FE MBSY TIE *

A phone tech remoted into our system and tried the same LD 60 - STAT stuff.

At the end, he typed:

>LD96
DCH000
.DIS DCH 7

He never tried to "ENCH" from LD 60....hmmmm....

Nortellian, JohnPoole, does that mean anything to you?

Thanks, John, you replied the same time I posted a question....so I think you answered me!

What else did your vendor do? Is this an OPT11C with TMDI cards? If it is trac the calls that are still up in LD 80. Then DIS DCH 7. Go into LD 60 and DISL 2. Then go to LD 48 and DIS TMDI 2. After card is disabled enter the following command, ENL TMDI 2 FDL (Force DownLoad). Alot of information will come across the screen. You will finally get an OK followed by the "." then disable and re-enable the TMDI card, without using the FDL after the card number. Go into LD 60 and enable the loop. Everything should come up. For futre information the FE means FarEnd. You may need to enable the span at the same time your provider enables his.

Thanks all. This is good information for "next time".
I know basic admin on the system but have to bring in outside help for more complicated matters.

I appreciate everything!

feel free to ask, even before she lays down on you, never hurts to ask..1st time i had one that went down, after prayer, then cussing i tried dancing around the switch with a dead chicken.. worked almost as well as replacing the fuse
