Hey guys, I have an issue when I power up my mainboard. Every time I power it on, it just starts beeping and doesnt stop. Any hints on what this could be?

Asus P5ND2-SLI deluxe

Last thing I did was unplug the unit from the power outlot while I was re-cabling all my power cables. Everything powers up, the CPU fan spins and everything.

Thanks in advance.

are these short beeps? if yes, then recheck all your power connectors, unplug them and replug them...

are they long? Then reseat GFX Card and/or Memory...

(this is for Award BIOS)...

Look in the manual that came with your board as it will say what the beeps are for. Easiest way I know of lol.

I reseated all my power connectors and still no go. I then took out each compnent one by one and it still kept beeping. Now since I moved my memory into 2 new slots, it doesnt beep anymore and it doesnt post either. It just turns on and thats it.

Any clues?

supergino,
Put the memory back into the original slots and try re-seating your video card. The "tail end" of the video card may have popped out of the slot a little bit which would cause rapid beeping as well.

Start off with Clearing CMOS (check manual), some mobo's do not like to start without that first...

yes, check that gfx card as mainegeek mentioned, just a notch off and no POST...

also check for SHORTING, ie. brass standoffs between mobo and case, that should not be there...

hook memory up according to what the mobo states, make sure that the mem in use is compatible with the mobo you are using, ie. check the mobo's manufacturers website for compatibility...

leave/unhook all IDE cables from the mobo, check front USB connectors for correct hook up, if they are wrong some mobo's do not like to POST (ie. my ASUS P4PE-x does not like to)...

double check to see if the CPU HS Fan is oriented correctly, and that the CPU FAN connector is hooked up correctly, mobo's do not like to POST when they do not detect a HS FAN at start, this is to prevent the CPU from taking damage...

also check that the CPU in use is the correct one for that Board...

just some thoughts...

Hey Guys,

Did everything you all said to do and still no go.
Im starting to think both pieces of memory have gone bad.
That day I was tweaking the speed setting of my OCZ ram and it screwed up the PC so but after resetting the NOS on the mainboard, it went back to normal. Then I shutdown the PC and all my problems began.

What do u think? A possibility?

Yep.... try it with a known good piece of MEMORY... but I suggest Clear CMOS... from the start...
