Farwording mail messages

Hello,

I have a quick question. Is there a way I can create a distribution group in exchange and forward all the mail that comes to that distribution group to an outside email address, not in AD. I know I can farword a person's email to someone in a same AD, but not sure if this can be done to an external email address.

You'll have to create a mail-enabled contact, then forward to that.

Hello,

I have created a email enabled contact in my domain and specified a different smtp address of some other domain, but its not working. The email bounces back to me saying that:

Your message

To: test2@netechinc.com
Subject: test
Sent: Fri, 16 Jun 2006 09:41:36 -0400

did not reach the following recipient(s):

test2@netechinc.com on Fri, 16 Jun 2006 09:41:45 -0400
The e-mail account does not exist at the organization this message
was sent to. Check the e-mail address, or contact the recipient
directly to find out the correct address.
<exchange1.netechinc.com #5.1.1>


Anything eles I need to change?

You can't just pick an email address at random! test2@netechinc.com has to exist in order to send an email to it.

Thanks so much for your assistancec. I tried that option, but I am sorry exchange 2000 doesn't allow me to create same user name for contact as well as a user. I guess some more tweaking is required. I tried changing the Alias name to the same as user name (for that user), but that is still not working.
