Fancy fading

HI,

I am designing a database and on the login screen I want the background to be white and a logo to fade in and then fade out in the centre of the screen, then it go onto the main menu.

One way I thought of doing this, but not sure if it will work is getting a blank white form (on a timer) then another white form with the logo in the middle ( on a shorter timer). so the first will appear, then the logo in and out then the first to disappear.

Any ideas anyone?

Also how do you do a timer?

It sounds like an animated GIF would do the trick.
