Things to think about....

was going to sugest a ready built program such as PAF - Personal Ancestral file avaliable to download for free. do a search on it. but this only does one tree and you'll want to keep records of more than one tree I suspect.

Include fields such as
ID AUTONUMBER
sex D/B - YES NO Field Dog or D for YES B or Bitch for NO
name TEXT
Owner TEXT
Owners address 6 x TEXT
Date of birth DATE - because you can calculate the age from this
Mother INTEGER
Father INTEGER
Notes MEMO - for additional notes

a table for parent/child relationship because they can have more than one child...
Pup INTEGER relate this to the pups ID
parent INTEGER - relate this to the parents ID

another table as above but for the mates..

showing the relationships on a form may be difficult to show because of the number of pups each family can have. Try displaying them from left to right starting with the parents and working through the pups to the right, rather than fron the top down.

hope this sets you on the way

You could also make use of subreports.
