I have just installed XP Pro and am receiving an odd message on the beginning sign on screen. I have the displayed "To begin click user name" screen displayed and underneath my name is a message saying, "11 unread mail messages". When the cursor is applied a conversation bubble appears saying that my primary email account has these messages within, and unread. I then check the account and it is working normally and is empty. I have checked all other accounts and they are also empty. I use outlook express exclusively. (I have even opened outlook itself but it is empty also).
I cannot seem to clear this false message. I even checked on the isp server via webmail and it is empty...............
Any suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks, will give it a run. I appreciate your time

Have installed the utility and it switches the mail notification off however it still persists in the 11 mail messages uncleared statement when enabled again!!
Have tried the switch with full shutdown to update the registry but with no success. Any other ideas appreciated
