I have XP pro on a dsl service using a router but not networked with other computer. It was working fine and then on day I start getting a not connected, cable unplugged error. It lasts for about 5 seconds and then tells me I am connected again. This happens every few minutes. Cables are all connected fine. I ran virus scan, spyware scans, reboot and no luck. Help before I try a restore

What indications do you show on the router? Does the data/traffic light stay lit during this problem? If not, then you may have a short in your cable that "breaks" intermittently.

All great accomplishments were once considered impossible.

Well I did everything including a restore only to correct the problem by moving to another port on my router. Can routers get virii. Thanks for the recomendation

No, routers can't get virii, to the best of my knowledge, because they don't have an OS in the traditional sense that can be altered. However, their settings can be changed to suit what a hacker wants to use it for (i.e. - changing baud rates, changing duplex/serial settings, etc.) I'm NOT an expert on this particular area so if anyone knows more about this please feel free to correct me.

All great accomplishments were once considered impossible.
