failed to initialize database 1

Hi guys,
I have arcserve 9.01 rel 2200. I just upgraded it and now DB engine won't start. It worked fine until before I tried, but now it just doesn't load. My op SYS is Win2000 and I am running microsoft exchange.
I tried getting a "fresh" Database directory, but it won't help. I canceled "r*.*" from a directory, but that won't hel either. Maybe I have to reconfigure from scratch? I wouldn't know where to start...

Can you help me please? I can't perform backups and it's been 5 days o' work already...I am getting worried.

If it can help... I did something stupid. I have the English version of BAB and tried to upgrade with the Italian (I am Italian...) upgrade. It obviously failed - I finally realized what I was doing and put up the English upgrade. This problem has started since then.

In the past I have never had an upgrade work. I always uninstall the software reboot then reinstall the new software. Configure the Device and make sure it is seen.
Make sure to backup your jobs
