We are having a problem with backingup our Exchange stuff. when I go to select the mailbox and public folders It tells me Failed to access //server/public folders. im not sure where to set permissions for this. can anyone please help. Also we are now having another problem the tape drive (quantum dlt8000) is ejecting the tape so it is not backing up anything. put the tape in and after a couple minutes it ejects it or sometimes it acts like it is backing up but after many hours it does the same thing. Have any idea on what might be going on?

Thank you,
Jason

We are running windows 2000 server, veritas 9, and exchange 2000

Thank you,
Jason

Tape issue: Do you have a new tape you can try?
When setting up the backup there's an option to eject the tape, is that 'turned on' (checked)?
Is the tape full?
Is the job set to overwrite or append? If append, the tape could be full and you need a new tape or set the job for overwrite.
What size tape? What size is the backup?
When was the last time you used a cleaning tape in your drive? Failure to keep it clean can cause the problem you are seeing.
Are there any alerts?

Access to file: Does the account that BE is running as have access to the files?
