I have a 2003 excahnge server that is erroring out during mailbox backup. The error code is: a000fe2d HEX
The error description is: The backup of the item is bad.
I found some documentation stating that that a registry entry needed to be performed. I did this and the change did not help at all. Has anyone run into this problem before?

No I have not done that yet. I will do the final suggestions tonight and will let you know. Thanks!

One more question? the administrator that performed this task informed me that the changed the ergistry on the domain server not the exchange. Shouldn't it be done on the exchange server???? I am a Cisco guy, so I don't know a ton about exchange servers.

Thanks!

The registry entry needs to be changed on the system running Backup Exec. It doesn't matter whether the server is a DC or running Exchange.

Are you using BackupExec for your backups? If not, we need to go back a couple of steps.
