I currently have a server running 2003 Enterprise, and set up as a domain controller. I create a user in AD, when I try to log on at a client machine it takes up to five minutes to logon. How do I:
a)set up a completly roaming profile
b)set up a roaming profile to leave a cached copy on the target machine, and update if neccessay its roaming profile on logoff.
Thanks

Setting up a roaming profile:

1. Create a share on a server running Windows 2003 and make sure the everyone group has access to it.

2. On the profile tab of the account in AD Type the path to the profile \\server\share name\username

This document give a good review of the settings you can use for determining when to use a cached profile and how to set up roaming profiles to load mroe quickly (scroll down to the appendix for group policy settings):

might want to check DNS settings on client to see if it pointing in right direction only a thought!!!

It's the same each time with progress. First they ignore you, then they say you're mad, then dangerous, then there's a pause and then you can't find anyone who disagrees with you.
