I have a SCC G-3si R9.5 that has a failed modem on the processor, I can change to external modem, in maintenance, but have been unable to locate a document showing how/where to connect it and at what speed it will run. I did find a doc for connecting to an EPN, which doesn't apply to this installation.
It is not practical to replace processor at this time, but I do need remote access. I have considered a data module/netcon setup, but I think a Robotics modem would be easier.
Suggestions??

You could also use a Pooled Modem card. That allow access into your netcon channels.

It's a TN758. You will need to add a hunt group with the netcons/system ports in it and then call the hunt group assigned extension number.

Thanks bhanson,
I am aware of the pooled modem, but unfortunately no available slots and if memory serves it will only run at 2400/4800. It's kind of like connecting a SAT/modem terminal to an EPN cabinet it only runs at 1200 Baud. Actually I found the info I have been searching for on the AVAYA site today by Googling it, instead of using the rappy+C Avaya search engine. For those who might be interested in attaching a modem or LAN terminal adapter, see this.

If you want to use a 28.8 or 33.6 robotics modem, the init string is available on Prologic docs. I don't know why Avaya hides/removes so much of its documentation these days, I guess they don't want any one but them to know anything (sic!)

The Avaya Prologixs use a Robotics external modem, and maybe U already know that, but they have problem with not hanging up some times or other problems. But I remember that a tech posted a fix for that problem in this or the aau or yahoo avaya forum.

Strangely enough I have yet to have issues with robotics modems, in fact, it is about all I use except on my laptop.
I always make sure my INADS lines have reliable/positive disconnect. I also have one of the robotics manuals with all of the init string commands and what they are for.
