Hi there,

I'm new to this forum and would really appreciate some guidance. I'm hoping to buy an external drive of around 250 Gig. I'd like to save whole projects on the drive, including all the preview clips etc. When I'm still working on the project I'd like to be able to take the hard drive and plug it into ..say...a laptop and still be able to work away on the project.

My first question is...

1) Can you use premiere this way? will it allow you to use the external drive efficiently..will there be no loss of "real time"?

2) Is it better to use firewire or USB2 for speed? Although I'm sure my Desktop is USB2...so I guess firewire would be better.

Hope you can help.

Regards

Carol Ann
