Customer has a Mics with 4.1 software, and a Flash(2.0). He wants when a customer calls in to the AA, to dial a three didget MAILBOX # (guest mbox) and be automaicly forwarded to an external #.He does not want the caller to hear any greeting at all when the mbox # is dialed and he does not want a phone associated with the mailbox. I know you can acheive this by using a point on a tree, but he needs 20-30 0f these mailboxes. I'm thinking some kind of Ata setup? Your thoughts please.

first vm i believe is only has 40 mailboxes and maxs at 4 channels with 20 to 30 people using outbound transfer you are bound to run into a very large no access problem..... as far call forwarding you can use asms or atas and set to fna/hunt to external after 2 rings on no answer and 0 on hunt"can do a hard call forward with butt set but if you lose power it need to be redone"...still may have trunking issue each call in will use 2 trunks once you forward of site..so 20 callers will need 40 trunks

Please explain the set to fna/hunt to external after 2 rings on no answer and 0 on hunt please. Should I be using the t/r from the ata and assigning it as a line on the mics with some kind of auto answer?

as long as your switch is using routing and you allow redirect you can forward to 9+number and min ring is 2 then forward on busy to 9+number if you don't know what i am talking about i would advise a vendor to do your work and to explain the +/- of this configuration...also if you not on a t1 you will get a noticeable volume drop will be same as a conference call

The only way to go to an external number thru the voice mail is ccr. However you're limited to 2 digits (maximum of 64 combinations) with a flash, but you won't use any hardware or mailbox resources. Call pilot will give you 3 digits. No directory either caller will have to know the digits to dial. You need PRI or Centrex type lines that allow call tranfer.

Using asm's or other hardware uses 2 lines for each call.
