Can someone tell me is this possible, a customers c: drive on a windows 2000 server is nearly full. I want to add a fourth disk and extend the c: drive? Is this possible?

Its a 532 Smart Array Controller and the server is a Compaq Proliant G3 ML350!

I know the RAID controler is capable of the expansion, however before you go through with it I would do some heavy duty research and also place a call to HP as I seem to recall an issue where if you expanded the boot disk (volume) on some smart array contolers and Windows 2000 was your OS it would render your boot drive un-bootable.

You can always do it the tried and true method: Backup everything, recreate the raid to hold the new disk, install the base OS and restore everything.

Start, Help. You'll be surprised what's there. A+/MCP/MCSE/MCDBA
