I have problems exporting the contents of a report to text. It looks fine in print preview, but when you export to text sometimes it appears correct, other times it differs. On occasions exporting the same rport has produced several different formats. Spaces appear after lines of text and words. I am using access xp. It seems to work fine from the access 2000 version of the same database.

The errors also happen when you manually export the data to text using file export etc...

DoCmd.OutputTo acOutputReport, stdocname, acFormatTXT, stoutputfile, False, False

Any suggestions welcome, as I am keeping the access 2000 version specifically because of this reason

Have you tried installing the Generic/Text only printer driver on port FILE:, then "printing" the report to a text file? Exact instructions depend on your operating system.
This has always worked for me.

Tried this and it produced same errors.
The export works fine from access 97, but not from access xp
