Hi. I'm trying to create a website for a new newspaper. I'm designing the paper in Quark 5 on a Mac (OS 9.1) and want to be able to export the files to html. The site will most likely be designed in html using some sort of interface like Contribute, or a database like MySQL to update the paper on a weekly basis. I can't figure out how to convert/export to html. The html choice on the menu is grayed out.

(1) Do I need additional software? If not, what do I need to do to make this work?

(2) Can the Quark document be exported to html in a clean enough format to use on a website without enormous amounts of cutting and pasting, i.e. if I have a headline, byline and text, all different typeface styles, can this be done in one shot?
The whole process needs to be efficient, since I'm the chief cook and bottle washer for this venture. Thank you very much!

You need to be looking at XML to do this, which is part of Quark 5. The XML is used as the data file and you design the lay out in HTML. You will have to tag all the content.

THIS IS THE WAY WE WILL ALL END UP WORKING.

If you can't fix it in 20 minutes call someone who can.

You may try <ctrl>+<shift> key combinations and then try exporting your document as HTML. The page will then be converted into HTML in a one go.
