CR XI on ORacle 8i database using Oracle ODBC connectivity

With CR 8.5, I had to create a fake page header in order to export my title row follwed by the detail rows.

However, that same report converted to CR XI does not produce the same results as 8.5 did. I am getting the title row on the left followed by the details on the right.

Any ideas on how to make it look like CR 8.5 csv file or do I have to export to an Excel spreadsheet?

Speaking of Excel spreadsheet, how do you eliminate any blank columns that may pop up after exporting? I have the data fields touching one another right now but I still get a blank column inserted every now and then.

Thanks in advance.

When exporting to CSV or Excel as a data dump, I create a report header with the titles.

In some instances, I create a second details section and use a "export" parameter and conditionally one or the other details sections to allow for a data dump when export is selected.

When export is selected, I have the fields shrunken down which elimates the merged cell problem to excel, and also works with CSV.

I moved the titles to the report header but that did not work. My column titles still goes from Comumn A to AV followed by the data starting in column AW.

I guess I am stuck with the Excel export with the shrunken fields to eliminate merged cell problem.

Thanks,

With limited output options in Business Objects XI Enterprise CMC, I found the following worked quite well. No merged cells either.

Instead of csv output, I selected "Microsoft Excel (Data Only)"

On the follow on screen, I checked the "Export page header and footer"

From within Crystal XI itself, the export option I use is "Microsoft Excel 97-2000 - Data Only (XLS)". On the popup, I check the "Export page header and footer"

That's it.
