Exporting bulk data (WEBBIE)

Hello all,

I have only BO XI 2.0 (no Data Integrator) and want to export some data to a *.CSV file.

When I try doing it from a report (open, refresh, save as EXCEL) the data is to big to handel within a report.

Is there a way to export the data ?

You're not seeing Save As CSV? It's an available feature. If you're not seeing it, talk to you system admin and make sure it's turned on.

Have you ever tried to open a report with 2.000.000 records and tried to use [save as ....] ?

I know the options, but please read my post !!!

I can't open the report with more then 2.000.000 records and then save it as..... [I don't care] .....

CSV is a pretty crappy way to try to move 2-million rows of data - and you didn't mention any of those points in your first post, so no need to be snappy with Steve....

With that said - if you are in BOE-XI (R2) you should be able to SCHEDULE the WebI document to CSV format, rather than having to open it for viewing.

Look under FORMAT in the schedule tab.

I read you post. You said absolutely nothing about the size or really what your problem was. When something is too big for Excel, I'm assuming 100,000 rows.

Be realistic. BO can't handle a report of 2,000,000 rows. You'll likely bring down the WebI Report Server. BO is not and ETL tool. It doesn't write directly to a file. It builds it's own cube in memory. It's still building a report in memory. You can't open it, but it's still there.
