Exporting as a pdf

Everytime I've made a pdf out of indesign cs, the black boxes that I add come out slightly grey making any black graphics (or graphics with black borders) really stand out. How can I make sure that black boxes stay black?

Check the out the colorprofile and see if you convert to rgb colors, leave unchanged or Cmyk colors. In the export menu
