Export to text ... without reformatting

I have a report that I wish to export to text. Right now I export to text and it opens in notepad (have tried with Word and Wordpad with same results). The text looks great except that in the export process, a carriage return is inserted after about 150 characters of text. This happens no matter what I do to the original report.

All I need to do is export a bunch of text easily and quicky (notepad seems ideal for this). There are some larger paragraphs that need to be exported intact.

Any ideas?

I found a partial answer. When exporting to text, Crystal uses 10pt Courier font. If you have a text box in the report, the line will break wherever 10pt Courier font would break. The only way I can see to get around that is to make the paper size and the text box bigger. Is there a way to change the paper size without setting up a printer? I don't have a printer installed that will print as wide as I need this page to be.

Ok, so I gave in and 'installed' a wide format printer to let me stretch the page out. Now another hurdle. I can print the report with one paragraph in each line (38" wide). When I try and export to text, Crystal blows it's brains out. It just hangs. If my text box is narrower than 22" (not sure how many characters) it exports fine ... any wider and it dies.

Anyone have experience resolving this?
