Hi,

I don't know if this is the best forum for this question. What I want to do is export a query to a spreadsheet, and then use Excel VBA to format the spreadsheet (put borders around some cells, paste in a title etc.) Can I just paste the Excel code into the code behind my command button in Access?

Thanks in advance...

Stickers,

Believe these listings should help you answer your problem..

How do I open a Word/Excel/Picture/Any Other File from Access?

Pulling data from Access into another MS App (via DAO)

VBScript & Excel

Rendering the results of an Access Database in Excel

generating excel sheets from access
thread181-472093 DAO to run a query in Access and return results to excel

Hope this helps.

Hi Doug - thanks for all the info.

The Paragon Corporation one is most like what I'm trying to do but about a million times more complicated. I'm having problems with it though - my VB doesn't seem to recognise Excel.Application as a legitimate thing???

I could stick with Transfer spreadsheet, but I really want to be able to mess around with the formatting after I've dumped the data...

Any more ideas?

Doug -

Sorry I'm being really dim!! I've checked the Excel reference library and for the moment it looks as though it might work!!!
