Export problems: immediate premiere crash

I encounter a very serious problem:
when rendering or making a preview of a clip that includes a transition, Premiere 6.5, 6.0 and 5.1c (I tried all of them) immediately crashes. In the timeline I see the pointer going into the first transition, but after one or 2 seconds Premiere stops and crashes without error message.

When I leave the transitions out of the editing, the rendering is superb!!

I use a Pentium III 450, 384 Mb RAM, Maxtor 7200 rpm HD (60 Gig) and a Miro DC30 capture board.

Can anyone help me out?

If it has to do with that particular transition, then you might wanna test it out.

Open a new project, import two clips (say 10 seconds each in length) and use that transition. If it crashes again, using that transition, then something within that transition may be wrong (ie settings)

Some transitions do not work when epxorted out becuase of the project settings.
