Export AVI to MPEG2 or DVD = "Unkown Error"

This is a Dell 4600 system with XP pro, Matrox RT100, Premiere 1.5, Adaptec Scsi 29160N card, on 1.5GB of memory, tons of disk space. If I select Export to DVD or MPEG2 - the Transcoding finishes and then when the assembling process starts the progress bar goes to 50% and the error message is displayed "Uknown Error". I have newest bios and checked the memory chips and all other applications work fine. Please advise!
