If you right click on start and select Explore it opens the explorer shell in "C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Start Menu" every time.....well i dont really want to look in that folder first....i would like to specify a different folder.
Does any one know where the start in location for this is? either in the shell properties or in the registry?

also
in win98 windowskey+E invoked explorer but in win2k it wont unles at least a ctrl+alt+delete has been done once...anyone know why?

thanks for any help

The reason your explorer follows that path, is that when you right click the start menu and select explore, you are selecting to explore the start menu for the user that is logged in. It is simply doing what you have asked it to do. I do not believe this can be changed.

Window/E should take you straight into explorer with W2K.

Another way of doing this, is to hold the shift key while double clicking the My Computer icon.

You could also simply make a short cut on your quick launch bar to explorer. (the icons just to the right of the start button)

Good luck, and Happy Computing
