explorer default window

I am running Win98. For the windows explorer icon on the desktop I have changed the default window as desired. But when I right-click the start button and then click explorer it still goes to the "windows\start menu" directory. Does anybody know how I can change that one???

Can't. The reason is that the Start Button and the Start Menu folder in Windows are one and the same.

Same thing with right-click and Explore on the My Computer icon, starts in My Computer.

I copied the desktop icon to the QuickLaunch toolbar and open Explorer from there. You can also edit the Explorer icon in the Programs menu.
