I have a brand new machine with Windows Xp SP2 installed.
In Explorer when you click on the search button, explorer crashes back to the desktop.
The error in the Event viewer is a little vague but the info is
Event Id is 1000
File is Explorer.exe
The faulting module is unknown
I have look on the web for a fix or if anyone has experienced a similar problem and came up with a change to the registry.
In the registry you need to add a new D-Word called DesktopProcess and give it a value of 1. You may of heard of this.
Well this fix worked but not for long, the original issue has started again. Does anyone know if there is a fix for this type of problem or can anyone help any further?
Many Thanks
