This should be simple enough. Just wanted to make sure I buy what I need and do it right the first time...I've been administering this system for over a year, but so far I've not added any hardware to the system itself.

I have:
MICS on version 7.0 software
Two Caller ID Trunk Cartridges (NT7B75AAE)
Extensions are numbered 221-252.
CP150 connected to 249-252.
One 6 Port Fiber Expansion card (NTBB06GA-93) with nothing connected to it.
27 T7316E telephones connected to extensions 221-247.
248 is only open extension.

I need to add capability for a few additional T7316E telephones.

I plan to purchase a Norstar Fiber Station Module (NTBB41) and an amphenol cable to connect to a 66 block.

If I understand correctly, the Fiber Station Module should come with a cable to connect it to the fiber card, and will provide 16 more extensions.

Questions:
1. Does it matter which port on the Fiber card I connect the Fiber Station Model to?
2. Do I need to power off the MICS before connecting the Fiber Station Module?
3. Is there much programming to do, or does the system pretty much just see the new hardware?
4. Will the new extensions automatically get assigned 253-268?
5. Will the CP150 still connect to 249-252, or does it move to the last four extensions (ie, 265-268)?
6. Am I missing anything?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Stations are plugged in bottom to top. You can leave the VM or change it to last 4 ports on station mod If you leave it the fwd to vm wont change. The ext should pick right up at 253. The system doesn't have to be powered down an will see the station mod. Punch the 25 pair cable on 66 block. Add line to ext just as you would on the 0x32.

I finally got the Fiber Station Module installed today. It worked exactly like you said it would. Thanks!

I would have finished the project a long time ago, but I decided to wait until I was able to clean up the wiring closet. I installed two new 66 blocks, one with amphenol cables punched down on both sides for the existing 32 extensions, and another with an amphenol cable on one side for the new 16 (and room for another if another FSM is ever needed). I replaced all of the old station wire that just ran across blocks and was extremely messy with new wire strung neatly over mushroom posts. (I must admit that it looks pretty good now!) I guess I put at least eight hours into that project, but I think it was a good investment in time. I'm the sole person wiring that closet, so if it is not maintained now, it will be my fault.
