The .app file execution works fine but when I build the .exe file and execute it I get an error message that it can't find the .dbc (I think) in German.

I tried putting Application.ActiveProject.VersionLanguage = 0x09 + 0x0400 in the main program to no avail. It is not with just one project but all projects.

Can someone tell me what mistake I have made or where to look to get the English back?

Thanks,
Rich

Have you tried re-installing FoxPro?

Rich,
There is nothing "magic" in VFP that switches languages. There must be code written by the developer or in the framework or third-party code that takes care of this.

You need to start with the developer / supplier to find out what has gone "wrong". If they say "Do this and all will be well", and you don't understand that, maybe someone here can help.

Thank you for the replies. I guess the next step is a reinstall. Is there a place to go to find out the correct sequence of things to do? I am assuming backup all files in my directory containing forms, reports, programs, etc. then uninstall and reinstall setting up the paths. Anything else tricky to consider?

Thanks,
Rich

Rich,

Before you re-install, check your resource files. If this is a standard VFP error message you are seeing, the chances are that you have bound the German resource files into build

Are you using InstallShield Express to distribute the application? If so, go to the Objects/Merge Modules screen, and make sure you have NOT ticked any of the "Microsoft Visual Foxpro 7 [or 8] Resource" items. Then un-install the existing EXE file and re-install.

Mike,

Right on!!!!

Many thanks. I had the DEU dll bound and had overlooked it.

A star for you!
