We've been running PowerBuilder 7.0 apps on Windows 95 clients, and successfully creating Microsoft Word documents via the 'ExecRemote' and 'SetRemote' functions.

We are in the process of converting our client machines to Windows 2000. The PowerBuilder apps work fine except for the ExecRemote functions. The app fails to create the Word documents.

Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

Perhaps you will need to switch the implementation to OLE.
The PB online books (and the web) have numerous examples of how to do this.

Thanks for the suggestion. That's what we are considering as we get more involved with windows 2000.
Meantime, we found the problem. It wasn't in the Powerbuilder app. It was simply a matter of setting up the users so that their environment knew where to find the Word template which contained the necessary macros.
Once that was done, the app worked fine.
