Excluding Programs / Folders From A Roaming Profile 1

Hi there,

Firstly, can it be done? And if so, what/how is the best way to go about it? I have a user who has on going problems with a certain "must have" program which is a kind of reference database which they need to use / update regularly. When the user logs out (more so when shutting down) the profile is not being updated correctly and gives the error pointing to a certain file within the said program's directory (although I fear it will be more than one file)

The user has agreed to have the program locally, or not have it updated in the profile to help solve the on going problem of it effecting his profile and bringing old data back.

Win2k SP4 box.

Any help much appreciated.

You sure can! Very appropriate link! I have in fact another user who is receiving the error this program tackles. I have yet to install and run the program but intend to ASAP.

Just to update...

That program is the bizz! I installed it on the pc having the error and, amazing, no further errors, the pc logs out within a few moments not like a minute, and all settings are being retained! I tried logging the user in and out multiple times and a couple restarts and it is all still fine, wow, very good.

The problem had been bugging me (and more so the user) for the last couple weeks....
