Hi,

I've got a problem with my mail server using exchange 2000..
About 7/8 times a day I find my mail system blocked (mail queues blocked) and anyone can't download the mail. The system attendant is up, no service is down, so if I restart the DNSCACHE (Dns Client service) Exchange starts again to work. I've had to create a batch file and schedule it every hour in order to assure a continuous mail service.

Does anyone has had the same problem or imagines as it can be resolved?

this is nothing to do with exchange. your problem is that the outbound email queue stops working as the DNS cannot resolve the email address to an ip address to send the email.

I had this problem a year or so ago. Reapply the latest OS service pack, stop the DNS server service, remove the cache file and restart the DNS and you should be ok. You have a corruption somewhere in DNS.

thank you..

I'll try but I remember that I've also re-installed sp2..

I'm going to try again..

bye

I'm sorry but... I didn't find the file you told me to cancel.. what's his name? And.. I've to reinstall the sp2 on the dns server? Because my mail server isn't a DNS server too...
Thanks for your patience...

D.
