Exchange ,Veritas and Network Assiociates Group Shield

the scenario,

I having problem backing up the exchange - using Veritas (with an error in the event viewer of, "database specified does not exist"
Backup Exec services cant even be started.
) after installing a Network assiociates Group Shield.. I cant even stop the Network assiociates services because it was in the hung mode.

Any Suggestions?

Not really, but we could no longer do a bircks level backup of Exchange using Arcserve after installing Groupshield. nfortunately we had to bite the bullet financially and change Exchange protection over to Norton - which works for us without problems.

What version of GS Engine are you running? We had problems when we set up GS and ran Veritas. We had to update to the latest GS engine before it would work. Of course, NAI had no answer to that at all.

Can't remember. NA were utter rubbish and flamed postings on here - unbelievable! Norton works well now though.

We are using 4.05 but we have solve it ..
What the GS do is it overwrite the right of Veritas Security ... so waht we do is we uninstall Both Veritas and GS the we first installed the GS second the Veritas ..
Quiet simple but it make our mind turn upside down ..
