I receive the following error message when trying to expand the Public Folder tree in the Exchange System Manager.

"an existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host"
Facility: Win32
ID no: c0072746
Exchange System Manager

This results in the Public Folder not being viewable within Exchage System Manager - hence permissions can't be set and possibly other problems.

There is no information anywhere on this error message as far as I can find, though I have seen it posted as a problem on other news groups with without responses.

The Outlook clients can still reach the public folders just fine, and can add and remove folders at will.

I would very much appreciate any help you have on this matter.

This is related to security permissions, I have seen it several times. Right click the public folder store and choose properties. Clickt he Security tab and assign the Admin ID Full Control Rights including Send/Receive As.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark

Hi,

I have just checked all of the security on the public folder store. Domain Admins is there with full permissions along with the other accounts.

I have tried removing the entries and adding them in again but it didn't make any difference.

Thanks

Verify the same from an NTFS perspective.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark
