Good day from the USVI,
At various, unpredictable times, I can see the disk lights on my Exchange 2000 server light up continuously. CPU utilization as reported by task manager is in the low single digit utilization range, while outlook performance is worse than horrible.
The duration of these blips can be as short as a couple of minutes, or upwards of an hour.
I have checked the virus scanner (no scheduled scans or abnormal number of files scanned - zero virus' found), and the Exchange message queue (zero).
Is there a fast track to see what is chewing up the disk?? I have set up the performance snap-in to look at page faults and I/O of specific tasks, but suspect there is something better.
thanx,
steve c.
