Hi Guys/Gals,

I need to know if anyone has done this. Basically I have a server which looks at all incoming and outgoing e-mail's for spam and viruses before it's sent to the exchange and out to the proper destination (user).

Now what I would like to do is put another (maybe) exchange server in front of this whole process. And it
would look something like this.

Incoming Email --> First Exchange Server(or whatever) -->
spam and virus server --> Our Actually Exchange Server -->
To Destination(user).

Anyone have an idea how I can acomplish this ?

Any comments or suggestions are welcommed =)

Thanks In Advance

What's the purpose of this first Exchange Server? You can set it up to relay all the mail to the spam/virus server.

You could also do this without Exchange, using an IIS/SMTP smarthost poing to the spam/virus server.

wallst32,

Do you have any instructions on how this can be setup ?

Thanks for you reply

Forget what I said above. I found out how to setup the Virtual SMTP Server in Internet Information Service Manager. And I got it to forward all e-mails to my spam/virus filter server. But now anyone can use this machine to send spam. Is there a way to set it up so that
only authenticated users can send e-mails ? Like somehow it looks at active directory and see's that the user is from this organization and he/she is allowed to send relayed messages ?

Thanks
