[22964] [E] 09/01/05 16:17:55 rcutil(978): NetWorker Server failed to recover one or more of the files requested.

I did try everything I know wich is not enough..

differente date / tapes
nsrck -L7 <client>
scanner -im <tapes>

I would suspect that either the tape is bad, the drive is dirty or you have a blocksize problem. Run a cleaning on the drive before trying to restore, and/or try a different drive.

If you have a blocksize problem you could try and set the
NSR_DEV_BLOCKSIZE variable. First, use scanner -nv on the tape and look at row 6 (i think) in the output, it will tell you with what blocksize the tape has been written.
"record size 65536" means 64K blocksize for example.
Next, set the "NSR_DEV_BLOCKSIZE_LTO_2" variable to "64" and also restart NetWorker just to be sure.

If you have patched your OS the st.conf might have been replaced with an original, and perhaps setting a default blocksize of 32K. I think Legato/EMC has a st.conf that they have configured to handle all supported drives.
Hope that helps you!

Cheers!
Maverick
