Hi,

Using Permformance monitor to monitor some counters on exchange 2003 and I'm wondering if someone can help me figure out exactly what some of these mean.

Under "MSExchange Transport Filter Sink" I have Block List DNS Queries Issued ... Is this
A) the number of inbound emails checked against the block list OR
B) Is this the number of queries against actual DNSBL list that I have configured in the connection filter? If I have 4 DNSBL list setup this would count possible 4 queries for every inbound email (a query to each list) the number would be (4 * #inbound-emails).

If the answer is "B" then does Exchange issue queries serially and wait for a response before it ask's the next list?

When exchange gets a positive hit on a block list does it stop and 'not' query the remaining DNSBL list's?

Thanks for any help.
