In September of 2025 Microsoft will be getting rid of basic auth and with it we won't able to authenticate from IP Office to 365 as it currently exists. Yes, we can do google workspace (for now) and there are alternatives out there, but when our clients are with Microsoft it makes more sense to be able to use the client's platform for SMTP.
I just hate having to use and track all of the "alternative platform" logins, passwords, and accounts for all of my IP Office clients when they should just be able to use their current 365 accounts if that's what they're using.
Does anyone know if anyone at Avaya is going to make OAuth compatible with our faithful IP Office systems? I can't believe it hasn't been done yet, and the fact that this sunset is happening so soon fills me with dread that Avaya is going to leave us high and dry.
