Exchange mail service wont download messages

I have just changed the way our Internet Mail Service connects to the mail server. I know that the Exchange server is setup correctly to send and recieve, but now instead of using a dial-up connection, we now connect through an ISDN router. This means that I can no longer specify how often dialup occurs etc. The system sends Email but not receive.

How can I tell the connector to download mail?
