Hi All,

Has anyone heard of being able to purchase "Exchange Lite" CAL's for the low users.

Exchange lite would only enable the user to check e-mail through the web client, and would not include "Calendar,Tasks...etc"

Under Exchange 2007, AFAIK there are only 2 CALs. Standard and Enterprise. Both give you the ability to access OWA and you can't turn off the calendar / task etc folders using a CAL unless I am much mistaken.

Exchange CALs aren't that expensive anyway.

You need a standard CAL for all users. Enterprise CALs are add-ons that enable UM features.

Exchange 2007 Standard is for smaller orgs with less mail storage requirements.
Exchange 2007 Enterprise is for larger orgs with more mail storage requirements.

Exchange 2007 CAL Standard is for normal features.
Exchange 2007 CAL Enterprise is for orgs requiring additional features such as Unified Messaging as Pat says.

If you purchase Exchange Server 2007 Enterprise, this does NOT mean you need Exchange Server 2007 Enterprise CALs.
