The company I work for is not to keen on punching holes from or DMZ to our internal network. I read the Microsoft configurations but I am looking for other resources.
Any suggested configurations or recommendations?

SP2 front-end and it able to access LDAP on the internal network. Dan

Just 389 and 3268.
It does not need 88, 53, 135, 445, 1024+- ?
